Learn how GSCP licences work for teams — buying them, assigning them to members, and keeping track of who holds one.
GSCP is never part of a plan. Individuals buy the exam for themselves; teams buy licences and hand them to members. This page covers the team side.
How licensing works
An individual subscriber buys the standalone GSCP exam directly and can book it as soon as they're ready — no team, and no assignment step.
A team works differently. A Team Admin buys a licence for the organisation, then assigns it to a specific member from the roster. The member doesn't pay for anything and doesn't see a purchase step. They get an exam they're free to schedule.
Certification isn't a plan featureYour Individual or Team plan covers labs and learning paths. GSCP is always bought on its own, on top of whatever plan you're on.
Buying a licence
A Team Admin buys licences from the team's billing area, the same place you manage the rest of the account. Buy the exam alone, or as a bundle with a stretch of lab access so the person sitting it can prepare first.

Assigning a licence
Open Certification licences in your team console, pick the exam, and choose a member from your roster. Set an optional due date, or leave it blank and let the member schedule on their own time.
Once assigned, the exam shows up unlocked in that member's own certifications area. They book their proctored slot the same way an individual would — see Sitting the exam.
Unassigned and unused licences
A licence you haven't assigned yet sits on your account, unused. There's no separate pool to check — your assignments list is the record of who currently holds one.
Assigned the wrong person, or need to swap who sits it? Withdraw the assignment while it's still unstarted and hand it to someone else instead. Once a member actually begins their sitting, it's locked to them and stays on record — a licence can't be reclaimed mid-exam.
